I’ll Bet You Can’t by Lewis Kohrs.  1946, 66 pages of bar bets, challenges and little swindles.  A fine copy.  $15

Great Hoaxes and Famous Imposters by Carlson Wade.  New York, 1976, 219 pages devoted to 20 of history’s famous hoaxers and imposters, my favorite being Wade’s exposure of the methods of medium Daniel Dunglas Home.  As new in as new DJ. $20

20 Years a Fakir by S. James Weldon.  The 1980 reprint of the 1899 edition, so scarce I have seen only one in my 34 years of collecting and dealing in con literature.  166 pages of methods of a con artist and grafter.  I have several mint copies at only $5

Don’t Get Taken!  Bunco and Bunkum Exposed is by Robert Steiner, past national president of the Society of American Magicians and lecturer on fraud and bunco.  In this 206 page SB book he exposes the cons, swindles and scams of con men, gamblers, psychics, blood readers, carnival operators, psychic surgeons, etc.  Included is a six page bibliography.  Published in 1989 at $14.95, I have several new copies at $14.



Suitcase Side Show by Tommy Windsor.  1962, 19 pages, 8 ½ by 11.  This tells how to set up a pitch act and contains full patter and routines for various pitch acts.  $10
